The following instructions are based on realme UI.
To ensure that the app can run properly in the background, please check the following settings.
1. App Battery Management Settings
Go to:
Settings → Battery → App Battery Management → [App Name]
If the following options are available, enable all of them:
- Allow foreground activity → Enable
- Allow background activity → Enable
- Allow auto launch → Enable
On newer versions of realme UI, these settings may also be located under:
Settings → Battery → Power Saving Settings → App Battery Management
2. Allow Auto Launch
On some realme devices, auto-launch settings are managed separately through Phone Manager.
Go to:
Phone Manager → Privacy Permissions → Auto-launch apps → [App Name]
Enable Auto-launch for the app.
Allowing this setting can help prevent the system from restricting the app when the phone starts or when the app needs to run in the background.
3. Check Power Saving Mode
Go to:
Settings → Battery → Power Saving Mode / Power Saver
If the app needs to run continuously in the background, make sure Power Saving Mode is not enabled.
According to realme's official guidance, Power Saving Mode may close some background apps or disable background auto-sync.
4. Check Battery Optimization
Go to:
Settings → Battery → Power Saving Settings → App Battery Management → [App Name]
If you see Optimize battery use or a similar option, configure it so that the app's background activity is not restricted.
Menu names and locations may vary depending on the realme UI version.
5. Lock the App in Recent Apps (Recommended)
Open the app, then open the Recent Apps screen.
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the upper-right corner of the app preview and select:
Lock
On realme UI 3.0–6.0, the usual path is:
Recent Apps → Three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the app → Lock
On older versions, the menu layout or method may be different.
6. Check Additional Power-Saving Features
Some versions of realme UI may include additional power-saving features.
Go to:
Settings → Battery → Power Saving Settings
If any of the following options are available, make sure they are not restricting the app's background activity:
- App Quick Freeze
- Sleep Standby Optimization
- Background Freeze
- Abnormal Apps Optimization
In particular, features such as App Quick Freeze may restrict background activity and prevent the app from receiving notifications properly.
If You Cannot Find These Settings
Menu names and locations may vary depending on the realme device model, Android version, and realme UI version.
Try searching for the following keywords in the Settings app:
- Auto Launch / Auto-launch
- App Battery Management
- Background Activity
- Battery Optimization
- Power Saving
- App Quick Freeze
If your device has Phone Manager, please also check the Auto-launch apps settings.
Note: Some realme devices automatically manage background apps to reduce battery consumption. Therefore, even after changing the settings above, background activity may still be restricted depending on the device model or realme UI version.
The location and names of these settings may also differ between realme UI versions, as indicated in realme's official documentation.
